Superintendent Dr. Reid Announces Retirement

Keller ISD Superintendent Dr. Randy Reid announced to the KISD staff on Friday, January 20, 2017, that he will retire at the end of July.

In a message to Keller ISD employees, Dr. Reid shared, "While it was not difficult to focus on being more involved with my family, it is extremely hard to think about leaving my Keller ISD family. The quality of people both in this district and in this community is tremendous, and I thank all of you for accepting me as a part of this district for the past five years."

Dr. Randy Reid joined Keller ISD as Superintendent prior to the 2012-13 school year. He came to Keller after spending five years as the superintendent of Tyler ISD. He began his career as a teacher and eventually moved into educational administration. Dr. Reid will retire having invested 36 years in the lives of students.

"Dr. Reid has been an incredible asset to Keller ISD and a champion for our students. His leadership style is the perfect balance of building strong relationships and having a purposeful vision that has helped move our District forward," said Board President Craig Allen. "While we will miss him tremendously, the Board is committed to ensuring that his successor leads KISD on the path of continued success."

The Keller ISD Board of Trustees will begin the search in the coming weeks and KISD will continue to keep the community informed throughout the process.
